The story of We are Family involves three major characters, Mom, Dad and Dads Fiancé. The couple gets divorced and they are facing a problem in handling their kids along with all other problems in their life. The Mom is quiet unhappy with the dad as he has brought his girl friend at the house in which the children are living. As the time passes, the enmity of the kids and their fathers fiancé increases although the fiancé is trying very hard to be friends with the Mom and kids. When the Mom gets to know that she is dying because of cancer, she decides to go along with her ex-husbands decision of getting married again to his fiancé. This change occurs because the Mom realizes that there is no way other than mentally preparing her kids for her death. For this she tries to be friends with the fiancé and then she realizes that the girl is not as bad as she thought her to be.
