This movie is an old fashioned love tale which seems not to exist in this era of globalization. This movie is a story of a village riverside school teacher (Rahul Bose) who is in relationship with Chigusa Takaku who is her pen friends. She lives in Japan and similar economic backgrounds personality traits brought them together. Their similar interests end up their relationship in marriage bond but the weird part of a story is that they did not meet even after fifteen years and as the phone calls were very expensive so they hardly talk on phone. The only mean of communication for them were letters in which they show their love for each other. It is a kind of weird story that how long distance relationship worked even before meeting and seeing each other. The movie has a twist when the Japanese wife fell into a serious disease and then he goes all out to save her life. Rahul is so in deep love with his wife that he was not willing to marry a Bengali widow who showed her interest into him. Is this type of love present today? Long distance relationship works?
