It looks like Bollywood is going on with the trend of making films inspired by the Hollywood movies. As the time goes on, this trend is getting stronger. Some of the movies are easily recognizable as their story is very much the same. We are Family previously named as Love you Maa, is another Bollywood movie inspired by a Hollywood movie called Step Mom (1998). This film is directed by Karan Johar and it is directed by Siddhart Malhotra. This film is actually a remake of Step Mom. The star cast of this film includes Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. Kareena in this film is playing the role of step mother which was played by Julia Roberts in the original film.
The story of the We are Family Movie is based on a typical breakup of a couple. After the divorce, coping up with their children is becoming a problem as they don’t want the children to get disturbed. The father of children is living with his girl friend with whom he is planning to get married. The first wife and the mother of the children had to give her approval as she is dying from cancer. The first wife convinces her children that they have to live with their fathers second wife, their step mom. For her children, the dying woman had to hold all her hatred against this girl. In the end she realizes all the efforts his ex-husbands fiancé has been putting in to merge in the family and to make up with the kids. So the movie has a kind of happy ending
Previously, Karan Johar has produced a super hit Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum with the pair of Kareena and Kajol. But this time would he be able to create that magic again??
