SLTSri Lankan team has been imposed fine due to slow over-rate in the match (ICC CT 2009) against New Zealand at Wanderers. The team was very slow and didn’t complete the overs in the given time. They were two overs late. The ICC has legislation on this that teams who fail to complete overs within the specified time period will be imposed fine. Captains are charged 10% of their match fee and players are charged 5%. Because Sri Lanka was two overs late, the captain Kumar Sangakkara was charged 20% and players got a penalty of 10% of their match fee. The match was won by Sri Lanka against New Zealand by giving them a 38 runs defeat. It is expected that Sri Lankan cricket team would show handy behavior in this regard. After all, time management is not bound to books.
