Australia TeamThe scene of semi finals is very dramatic. No one speculated that such a mess would be there and a lot of unpredictability would be observed in the cricket scene. The ICC Champions Trophy 2009 is the weak point of every cricket team and those who have reached semi-finals are trying to win the trophy. Australia is the last team that entered the queue of semi-winners.

Now New Zealand, England, Australia and Pakistan are candidates for semi-finals. Australia was very desperate until it defeated Pakistan.

The famous batsmen Ricky Ponting was quoted saying that he was chewing nails while match was in progress. He also said that “We have just come from a really good series against them over there, but it`s different conditions here to what we confronted over there and they have been playing some pretty good cricket of late”.

Australia will surely perform reasonably well in the semi-finals and will not repeat the mistakes they made in previous matches.

Pakistan-Tour-Australia-2010Predictions from experts claim that Pakistan will win the ICC Champions Trophy 2009. In a statement made by JP Duminy, he said that Pakistan is a strong team and will win the trophy. Duminy is a middle order South African batsman who is really disappointed over the incapability of his team to survive for long in the Champions Trophy. As a matter of fact, South Africa is out of Champions Trophy after losing a match from England with a margin of 22 runs. Duminy says that he has taken the defeat very personal and is very sad that his team is unable to perform well in their home ground. He says “The disappointment levels are huge, especially coming so close on the back of the World Twenty20 exit. I took that defeat very personally, but this one has really hit as a team. After all the hype of coming into the ICC Champions Trophy as the No. 1 team in the world, and then to end last in our group is hugely disappointing.”. Now let’s see who will win, Australia or Pakistan.
