Shahid in good terms with Younis

October 24, 2009 by Agarwal

shahid_afridiPakistan Cricket Team is facing internal conflicts these days as the vice captain Shahid Afridi is said to be not in good terms with the captain Younis Khan.  Both players are vital part of the team and are exceptional players as well. They also enjoy good influence and ranks but it is very dangerous if they start troubling each other. Regarding all this, Shahid Afridi says that they all are rumors and they are nothing to do with reality. They have a mutual journey spanning over 15 years and Afridi says that he is mature enough to deal with such matters in a decent way. He says that it was under Younis’s captaincy that Pakistan won T20 World Cup in the June of this year and there is no reason why should he trouble Younis.

He said “When so many people with varying temperaments are thrown together for several weeks or months on a tour, things of course can’t always be trouble-free”. This is simple and deep statement by him. Accidents do happen but they doesn’t mean a permanent back out.

Afridi we appreciate your loyalty and this time you have proved to be a boom boom Afridi. Keep the spirit high.

Younis KhanPakistan Cricket Team had a very good start in the recent ICC Champions Trophy of 2009. They kicked India out of the scene and played much outstanding. But the matches with Australia and New Zealand were very poor. Pakistani Cricket Team couldn’t maintain their winning position and the whole team collapsed down immediately.

Rumors were rife that a match fixing was observed and that was the major reason behind the defeat of the team. The National Assembly took the rumor seriously and called upon a meeting to discuss the issue. It was presided by Jamshed Dasti who was in favor of the view that match fixing was observed. Younis Khan, the captain of team presented his resignation during the meeting which accentuated the issue and serious doubts were raised by this act. Ijaz Ashraf, the chairman of PCB has said that Younis offered his resignation. But PCB has not said anything about the acceptance or rejectance of the resignation.

Some old players have criticized on Media and PCB and said that it is a shame that they are pointing fingers towards a reasonable man like Younis Khan. The actual story is still not known.

Bangladesh was invited to play the first ever day-night Test match that will be held in May/June of next year.

Unfortunately, two counties is England have shown reluctance to experience with the pinkish ball in night. This refusal can cause many barriers in the widespread application of day-night Test matches. Resistance is coming because no test has been carried out whether one can play in such a scenario or not.
