A rumor has been in air that the leading Internet provider company of Pakistan, PTCL is planning to double the speed with same charges. Although, the official statements have not been on air yet but some newspapers have already mentioned that PTCL is secretly upgrading its infrastructure and unknown sources in PTCL also claim that a new marketing plan is in progress. Those who were getting 1 MB speed will than enjoy 2 MB and so on. If this happens than it will be very good at the part of PTCL and rapid speed increments will lure more clientage. Competition among Internet service providers will grow fierce and may be some companies would have to close their operations. It was said that on Eid or days after Eid, PTCL will announce the package but still we have no updates about it. This news can be trusted as PTCL launched a Go Broadband campaign some months ago in which they doubled up the speed with same prices and PTCL is also offering broadband DSL at 300 Rs in some rural areas as well. On 19th September, PTCL has announced the Double-Up package which gives unlimited downloads and unlimited on-net calls for fixed charges starting from Rs.1,999.
