French archaeologists have found world’s most ancient worship place in the outskirts of Dubai. The sanctuary was used to worship some fishes like dugong. It is said that the sanctuary was built is almost 3,500 years BC. This is the oldest known worship place for dugongs. The scientific name of the fish is Dugong Dugon which is still found in Gulf whose weight grows to 880 pounds in adulthood. Researchers say that at first it was thought only as a slaughterhouse but by careful digging and exploration, it was found to be a well-built sanctuary with two levels. Tools were also found on site. Archaeologists say that the land Akab, on which the archaeological site is discovered, was a tuna fishermen village. This was about 6,500 years ago. Similar site were also found some years back in Australia but they are not as old as this one is. The discovery will open new chapters in understanding the social and cultural traditions of old Arab.
